In about 2 hours and 40 minutes from the time of the typing of this post, the Madness begins! Are you ready? I have all the brackets, but I have been called in to teach a class at Boyce College this afternoon and will not get the brackets up on the website until this evening. I will do it as soon as I can get to it when I get home from teaching.
Happy Madness!

The first game of the 2008 March Madness Season just ended. If you picked Mount St. Mary’s, then congrats! (Most of you picked Mount St. Mary’s as you can see below.)
The picks that I received for the Play-on Game were as follows:
- Rebecca - Mount St. Mary’s
- Jennifer - Mount St. Mary’s
- Emily - Mount St. Mary’s
- Melody - Coppin St.
- Ernie - Mount St. Mary’s
- Dwayne Sr. - Coppin St.
- Eric - no pick
In the Junior Division, here are the picks that I have:
- Dwayne Jr. - Coppin St.
- Amberly - no pick
- Mitchell - no pick
As I stated earlier, congrats if you picked Mount St. Mary’s…they won (69-60 over Coppin St.). So that leaves most of you with a win and a few of us with a loss. Below you will find the current standings headed into Thursday’s action. As always, it goes in order of most wins and that, if tied, by alphabet.

- Emily (1-0)
- Ernie (1-0)
- Jennifer (1-0)
- Rebecca (1-0)
- Dwayne Sr. (0-1)

Well, the bracket is up! You can view it here or download it here. The first game, the “opening round game” this year, what was (and technically still is) the play-in game is Tuesday night. Due to my class schedule, I will need to have everyone’s bracket emailed to me by Wednesday night at 8:00 pm so I can have the picks up and ready for action on Thursday. I am in class all day Thursday so if I do not get them up Wednesday night late, I will not get them up in time.
Happy Madness….

As was announced last year, there will be the Moore Madness Junior Division, so all kids (kindergarten through 6th grade 8th grade - we want Emily to be happy!!) can compete against one another this year. Be sure to fill out your brackets! Also, brackets will come out tonight so check back here for a link to a bracket you can download, print, fill out, and return.
The Madness has begun…
UPDATE: Consider this a public retraction for the grievance that I have assaulted against Emily. I have a typo above. As I stated last year, the Junior Division would include those competitors from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I inadvertently typed “6th grade” in the original post and am deeply sorry for any offense that this may have hurled upon the Moore Family. Thanks ~ DHE

Watch all of this year’s NCAA tournament online while you are way from your TV right on any computer with high-speed access. Just sign up for a free account here and you are on your way. Also notice, once you launch the player, the handy-little “boss button.” I am trying to change mine to say “warden button.” Go figure!

For those of you who are still unsure as to how this works, the winner will be announced after the game ends. Think on that!!

…..Way to Go Ernie!!! You have fought off the estrogen surge and won! Once again the more cup is full of testosterone…..
How can I declare a winner you say? I am glad you asked…..everyone in the Moore Family picked Florida to win. So, by sometime just before midnight tonight, we will have all lost or all won - meaning no one can “gain” any more games on another person in the bracket.
One more thing - hey Emily, you dropped your ice cream!!!

I received my ESPN the Magazine today in the mail. In the magazine, they covered each of the four teams that are in the final four. I thought you might like to read what they had to say. You may get the file here.
Enjoy!

Next year, in addition to the original and long standing Moore Cup, and in honor of the Moore Cup’s tenth anniversary, there will begin a new series. The Moore Cup Junior series. All Moore kids from Kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible to participate in the Moore Cup Junior series. So little boys and girls (Becca excluded) get ready for next year!

Here are the Day 8 Standings - it is nothing that we did not already know…..Emily is NOT in the lead!!!
- Ernie (50-11)
- Emily (48-13)
- Jennifer (46-15)
- Becca (46-15)
- Dwayne Sr. (44-17)
- Eric (44-17)
- Melody (41-20)
I was looking back through some of the Moore Madness brackets that Ernie had filed away and we are actually doing pretty good compared to years past. There was one year, I believe, where only the winner of the Moore Cup had a winning record! And that was just barely a winning record. So for even the last place person to be 41-20, that is pretty good!
Stay tuned for an important Moore Madness announcement……

Georgetown’s win all but sealed victory for Ernie - start engraving the cup. Emily - it may be staying in Tennessee - but it is not touched by your hands. Once again testosterone wins!!! Go Ernie Go!

Here are the postings from Day 7. If there continues to be threats made by a certain party, they will be banned from mooremadness.com FOREVER!!!! Of course, the odds of her being quiet and NOT whining are tremendously small. Hey Emily, it’s only slander if it is untrue (Law 101).
- Ernie (48-11)
- Emily (47-12)
- Becca (45-14)
- Jennifer (45-14)
- Dwayne (43-16)
- Eric (42-17)
- Melody (40-19)
UPDATE!!
Dwayne and Ernie were the only ones to go 2-0 yesterday - Jennifer was the only one to go 0-2. Well, we might as well throw Emily in there as well because she is a loser!
